FAQ

Before you book

How do I book?

Start with a short enquiry. Send me your idea or choose a design, tell me where you want it and roughly how big. We agree the details before an appointment is confirmed.

Start an enquiry →
What information should I send?

The idea, placement, rough size and whether you want colour or black and grey. A couple of useful references are enough. If you are unsure about something, say so.

Tell me about your tattoo →
Can I choose an available design?

Yes. Pick a design, or use + to save a few. They go straight into your enquiry—no screenshot needed. Availability is confirmed before booking; an enquiry does not reserve a design.

Browse designs →
Can an available design be adjusted?

Tell me what you would like to change. I will confirm what works for the design, size and placement before we agree anything.

Choose a starting point →
How is the price determined?

Size, placement and the work involved all matter. Prices are in Canadian dollars. Available design prices are listed per piece; ask for an estimate for your own idea. Your $150 deposit comes off the agreed total.

Ask about your idea →
How does the deposit work?

The deposit is CAD $150 and comes off your agreed tattoo total. Pay through RMT after the appointment and payment instructions are agreed. RMT’s deposit and cancellation rules apply.

What if I need to reschedule or cancel?

Speak directly with studio staff as soon as you know. RMT allows one deposit transfer with two operational business days’ notice and a new date within one year. Its cancellation rules and exceptions apply; a message alone does not confirm a change.

How should I prepare for my appointment?

Read the studio’s preparation guide before your appointment and follow the instructions supplied with your booking. Ask the studio if anything in the guidance is unclear.

What aftercare guidance will I receive?

Follow the instructions supplied for your tattoo and dressing. RMT’s aftercare guide is linked below; if you are unsure which instructions apply, check with the studio.

What is the touch-up policy?

RMT’s policy applies: one complimentary touch-up with the original artist within six months, subject to proper aftercare and its exclusions. Hands, wrists, feet, neck, flexion points and tattoos made using topical numbing agents are excluded from complimentary coverage. Read the full conditions before booking.

What is traditional tattooing?

Bold outlines, clear shapes and strong contrast are central to traditional tattooing. Roses, daggers, animals and ships are familiar subjects. The traditional gallery has examples in colour and black and grey.

What traditional subjects do you tattoo?

Roses, daggers, ships, animal heads and Japanese-inspired subjects are all in the gallery. You can attach a photo from it to your enquiry if it helps explain what you have in mind.

Do you draw custom traditional designs?

You can enquire about a custom traditional design. Send your idea, placement and rough size; references help explain the direction. We will confirm whether it works as a project before booking.

Send your idea →
Can traditional tattoos be black and grey?

Yes. Traditional designs can use black and grey as well as colour. My black-and-grey collection also includes work outside the traditional style, so use the actual photographs to show me the direction you mean.

Explore black & grey →
What size works well for a traditional tattoo?

It depends on the subject, detail and placement. Send a rough measurement rather than worrying about getting it exactly right; the final size needs to work for the drawing and the body.

Discuss size & placement →
How does placement affect a traditional design?

The shape and movement of the area influence the drawing, its size and which way it faces. Include the placement in your enquiry so the design can be considered for that part of the body.

Talk through your placement →
What is the difference between traditional and neo-traditional?

Traditional usually keeps the shapes, shading and palette more restrained. Neo-traditional often adds more detail, a wider palette and more varied linework. Send examples if the label does not quite describe what you mean.
